Some September orders

September is such a magical month for cake decorating! It's that sweet spot where you're still celebrating summer birthdays but also getting excited for all things fall and spooky. I wanted to share a closer look at some of the custom cakes that filled my September order book – each one was a joy to create and brought so much happiness! Let's start with the vibrant 'Happy Birthday Devan!' cake. This rectangular sheet cake was a burst of pure fun, topped with classic white frosting and an explosion of colorful sprinkles. We went with bright blue lettering for Devan's name, making it pop against the white, and added several cheerful birthday candles for that perfect celebratory touch. Sheet cakes are fantastic for larger gatherings and can be personalized in so many ways – think about different sprinkle mixes, custom color schemes, or even adding edible image toppers for a unique flair. It's all about making the birthday person feel extra special! Then there was the elegant 'Happy Birthday Dana!' cake, another beautiful rectangular sheet cake that showcased a softer, more refined design. This one featured a lovely blue and white frosting base, and we framed it with a delicate border of pretty pink frosting roses and fresh green leaves. The 'Happy Birthday Dana!' message was written in a warm yellow, creating a beautiful contrast. I often find that floral designs, whether piped roses or sugar flowers, add such a sophisticated touch to any celebration. Dana's cake was a perfect example of how a simple sheet cake can be transformed into a work of art. Beyond the birthday specifics, September also brings out some really creative themes. The charming baby block cake was a highlight, featuring two tiers of yellow blocks adorned with a sweet pink teddy bear, a playful yellow duck, and a cute blue letter 'a'. This design is always a hit for baby showers or first birthdays, offering a timeless and adorable aesthetic. And for those milestone celebrations, the '50 & FABULOUS' cake was absolutely stunning. This tall, round cake featured a gorgeous pink and white ombre frosting, adorned with delicate pink frosting roses and whimsical butterflies, all topped off with a sparkly '50 & FABULOUS' topper. It truly celebrated a significant birthday in style! I also got to create a super fun Teletubbies cake – complete with all the beloved characters, a bright rainbow, fluffy white clouds, and green hills. These character cakes are always a blast to make and bring so much joy to little ones. And for a unique, personal touch, the heart-shaped cake with a printed image of a smiling woman was so special. Surrounded by beautiful blue frosting swirls and delicate white and green floral decorations, it's a wonderful way to honor someone truly special. Crafting these custom dessert creations is what I love to do. Each cake tells a story and is designed to bring a smile. Seeing a client's vision come to life in frosting and sponge is incredibly rewarding. As we move further into September, my mind is already buzzing with ideas for fall cakes and, of course, the incredibly fun spooky cakes that are just around the corner.
