What makes this trail so special, beyond the destination itself, is the journey through an ancient, old-growth forest. The highlight of the hike, even before you reach the magnificent Drift Creek Falls, is the incredible 240-foot suspension bridge that spans high above Drift Creek. It's one of the longest suspension bridges in Oregon, and it provides a unique perspective of the gorge. Finally, you'll reach the stunning 75-foot Drift Creek Falls, plunging gracefully into a rocky pool below. There’s a viewing platform that allows you to take in the full grandeur of the waterfall. It’s absolutely mesmerizing, especially after a good rain when the water flow is at its peak. I recommend packing a small picnic to enjoy by the falls, taking your time to soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Remember to wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring plenty of water, and pack a light rain jacket, as Oregon weather can be unpredictable.
