Many times I have been stuck in my story on an endless loop of plot holes and writers block. It’s extremely discouraging and almost made me give up on my book as a whole, but there are multiple authors that has reached out to me and pushed me back on track.
🖤It’s okay to to take a break. I have said this in multiple times across my post. If you aren’t enjoying the feeling of writing and it seems like a chore, take a break. Writing about a world you created should be fun! If you reach a breaking point, it’s okay to walk away and focus on something else. Your story will be waiting for you!
🖤You don’t have to stick word for word to your outline. I like to believe my outline is my guide, but sometimes my characters write their own story and I go with it. They know their story more than ai do and 9 times out of 10, it helps the story progress.
🖤DO NOT GO BACK AND EDIT WHILE WRITING YOUR DRAFT. This correlates with burnout. You have a goal to finish the draft and things are going to change as you write, if you need to go back and change something, make a note. If you keep flipping through the pages to rewrite scenes to make a better picture, you will eventually feel like you are in an endless cycle. Save the edits/revision for when you move to that step.

Focus on completing your first draft; you can always refine it later. Making notations on parts that need changes is advisable, but save the actual editing for when you've completed the draft. This way, you maintain your momentum and can fully realize your narrative vision without hindrance. Engaging with a community of fellow writers can also provide support and motivation. Sharing your struggles and experiences not only helps you feel less isolated but can also offer new insights and tips that you may not have considered. The journey of writing is one that benefits greatly from shared knowledge and camaraderie, so don't hesitate to reach out to others in the field.
