upstairs of the new house
Oh my goodness, you guys! Moving into our NEW HOUSE! has been such a whirlwind, but I'm finally ready to spill the beans on the part I'm most excited about: the upstairs! It truly feels like a fresh start, and I've been pouring all my energy into making this space feel like our own personal sanctuary. When we were first looking at homes, the upstairs area was always a huge factor for me. I envisioned a bright, airy space with plenty of room for relaxation and privacy. Our new home's upstairs definitely delivers on that front. The layout really embraces modern upstairs house design, with an open landing that lets in so much natural light – it's truly a dream! I love how the architectural lines are clean and contemporary, making it feel both sophisticated and welcoming. One of the first things I focused on was planning out all the house upstairs features. For us, that meant ensuring each bedroom had ample closet space and large windows. We also paid close attention to the flooring; we went with a beautiful, durable laminate that's easy to clean but still warm underfoot. Thinking about flow, we made sure the bathrooms upstairs were strategically placed for convenience without sacrificing privacy. Speaking of bedrooms, setting up each one has been a labor of love. If you're tackling a bedroom checklist for a new home, my biggest piece of advice is to prioritize comfort and functionality first. For the master, we started with the bed and then built around it – choosing cozy bedding, blackout curtains for restful sleep, and practical nightstands with charging ports. For the guest room, I focused on creating a serene escape, almost like a mini-hotel suite! It’s been so much fun to truly "do up" these spaces. That phrase, "do up a house meaning," really resonates with me now. It's not just about decorating; it's about infusing personality and making every corner functional and beautiful. I’ve enjoyed hunting for unique pieces that add character, like a vintage dresser for one of the bedrooms and some lush plants to bring life to the landing. Of course, with an upstairs comes stairs, and they're not just for getting from point A to point B! We’re making sure our banister is super secure, checking for any loose banister on top landing issues (safety first!). It's a small detail, but ensuring everything is well-maintained gives such peace of mind. We even considered the possibility of adding a second story to a ranch house when we were looking at properties, just to understand the potential for future expansion, though we ultimately went with a pre-built two-story. It's fascinating to explore dream homes and see all the possibilities out there! Ultimately, for me, the upstairs of our NEW HOUSE! isn't just a collection of rooms. It's where we unwind, where guests feel welcome, and where we truly feel at home. I can't wait to share more updates as we continue to settle in!
