Back from the dead with another OC drawing lol

Hey everyone! So glad to share my latest OC drawing with you all. I've been really into creating characters with a strong, memorable presence lately, and this one definitely fits the bill. For this digital anime-style drawing, I really wanted to capture a powerful, almost mysterious vibe. My goal was to create a male original character who looks like he has a deep story to tell, just through his gaze and posture. When I started sketching, I knew I wanted him to have dark hair pulled back, something that would emphasize his face and those piercing intense blue eyes. Getting the hair to look natural yet stylized for an anime aesthetic was a fun challenge – I used lots of layering and subtle shading in Procreate to give it depth and movement. For the eyes, I focused heavily on strong highlights and dark pupils to really make them pop and convey that serious, thoughtful expression, almost like an 'eren intense eyes anime' look that many find captivating. One of my favorite details are the facial markings. I feel like they add so much to his unique identity and hint at a backstory without needing words. It's those little touches that truly bring an OC to life and make them stand out, don't you think? And his outfit – I settled on a laced-up, light brown shirt to give him a rugged yet refined look. It perfectly complements his overall aesthetic and adds to that 'hunk' vibe, if you know what I mean! This whole piece was done in Procreate, which is my go-to for digital art. I usually start with a rough sketch, then refine the line art on a new layer. For coloring, I block in the base colors, then add shadows and highlights on separate clipping mask layers. This helps keep everything clean and makes it easier to adjust later. The black background was a deliberate choice to make him stand out even more and draw all the attention to his face and expression, creating a dramatic contrast.
