Judged for Staying Offline?

I’m noticing how dependent we are becoming on social media and virtual communication - when it comes to getting to know someone new.

We count the minutes between texts. We inspect their social media accounts for red flags, dating status and anything we believe will give us “their story”.

But is this healthy or are we creating a toxic atmosphere where people aren’t given the chance to show us who they are?

Why are we shifting from getting to know a person, from the person to clicking and scrolling through what we believe is their story? Fear, insecurity, lack of self awareness?

... Read moreIn today's digital age, social media has become a pivotal part of how we communicate and connect with others. While platforms like Instagram and Facebook allow us to showcase our lives, they can also distort our perceptions of individuals. The phrase "Red flag: He doesn't post on social media" reflects a growing trend where individuals are judged based on their online presence rather than their personal qualities. This shift raises important questions about authenticity and the potential toxicity of our social landscapes. Many people find themselves trapped in cycles of anxiety and insecurity regarding their social media interactions, feeling pressured to curate a perfect image. As we turn to online platforms for connection, we may overlook deeper values like honesty, empathy, and vulnerability. Moreover, the reliance on virtual communication can diminish our interpersonal skills. Instead of having meaningful conversations, we often resort to superficial exchanges, viewing profiles and posts as a substitute for real-life interactions. This could lead to misinterpretations and missed opportunities for genuine connections. To combat this, it's essential to strive for balance. Engaging with individuals beyond their online personas can foster healthier relationships, emphasizing personal communication over digital interaction. Recognizing that everyone has their unique story, whether they choose to share it online or not, can lead to richer, more fulfilling connections. Let's challenge the norms of the digital age and promote understanding over judgment.

Why do women still get judged for body hair?
Why do we treat body hair like shame? Women aren’t meant to be spotless 24/7. Some grow it, some remove it, both are okay. But the judgment? That’s what’s actually dirty. #BodyHair #FeminineConfidence #feminine #bodycare #shavingtipsforgirls

Once, I had a boss who would mock me in meetings, calling me too gracious. 🤯Every time I extended kindness or remained calm under pressure, they’d smirk and say, ‘You’re too soft for this job.’ 🥺At first, I questioned myself—was being gracious a flaw? 🤔But then I realized their comments stemmed fro

Feeling Judged Can Make You Shrink. Don’t Let It.

Perfection feels productive.
But a lot of the time—it’s protection.
And protection has a cost. Not in outcomes. In experience. In how much of your life you actually get to feel. Joy doesn’t live in “almost right.” It lives in messy, present, real moments. So the question isn’t— “Did I do it perfectly?” It’s— “Was I actually there for it?” #N
