Anxiety VS Anticipation 🤔
ASL SIMCOM 🤟
John 3:16

From my personal experience, learning to distinguish between anxiety and anticipation has been transformative. Anxiety tends to focus on negative outcomes and what might go wrong, leading to stress and a closed mindset. However, anticipation, especially when embraced with a positive mindset, opens up the possibility of hope and excitement for what lies ahead. A helpful practice I follow is inspired by Philippians 4:8, which encourages focusing on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. This verse shifts my attention from worries to positive thoughts. Incorporating American Sign Language (ASL) SIMCOM (Simultaneous Communication) techniques has also deepened my understanding—expressing emotions visually through ASL can articulate feelings and thoughts that sometimes words alone cannot capture. When faced with uncertainty, I remind myself to pause and ask whether my feelings are rooted in anxiety or anticipation. This conscious effort to change my mindset involves actively replacing negative thoughts with positive affirmations and visual cues learned through ASL. Over time, this practice has made me feel more blessed, calm, and hopeful about the future. For those interested, some excellent books available on Amazon discuss mindfulness and practical strategies for overcoming anxiety by fostering anticipation. Utilizing hashtags like #blessed, #asl, and #BlessGod can also connect you to supportive communities that share similar journeys. Embracing this perspective helped me not only manage daily stresses but also strengthened my faith and appreciation for family and life’s amazing moments. I encourage anyone struggling with anxiety to explore these approaches—combining spiritual wisdom, language, and mindset shifts can be powerful tools for lasting peace and joy.
