What People Don’t See About Chasing The Dream 🎬
Most people only see the finished performance.
They don’t see the auditions.
The rejection.
The pressure.
The self doubt.
Or the discipline it takes to keep chasing a dream when success isn’t guaranteed.
This is the first episode in The Changing Game Podcast series on acting with my son Jaelin.
We sat down and had a real conversation about what people don’t see behind the scenes while pursuing a creative career and chasing a dream.
Real conversation. Real perspective. Real ambition.

Chasing a dream, especially in acting, often appears glamorous on the surface, but the reality is filled with obstacles that test both resilience and dedication. From my own experience and countless stories shared by actors, the path is a continuous cycle of auditions, learning from rejection, and maintaining confidence despite uncertainty. One thing that stands out is the emotional roller coaster every aspiring actor goes through. The pressure to perform well, the fear of failure, and the moments of self-doubt can be overwhelming. However, those moments also teach invaluable lessons about perseverance and growth. Discipline plays a crucial role—showing up consistently, rehearsing tirelessly, and refining your craft day after day are the bricks that build a career. Another important insight is understanding that success is not always immediate or guaranteed. Many actors take years to break into the industry, using each experience as a stepping stone. Support systems, such as family, mentors, and fellow actors, often provide motivation and perspective that help navigate these challenges. This journey is about more than fame; it’s about passion and the pursuit of something deeply meaningful. Conversations like those featured in The Changing Game podcast reveal the raw, authentic side of the performing arts world, showing that behind every finished performance lies a story of resilience, ambition, and endless dedication.
