The Tide Wasn’t Moving With Me Today
Day 12 of The Closers Team Challenge. 🚶♂️
Today tested me.
The tide just wasn’t moving with me. My check engine light came on, and I had 12 conversations with homeowners who waited too long to refinance or tap into their equity. Unfortunately, they no longer qualified.
I was in my feelings, but I made a commitment to myself. So I got up, knocked that bitch off my shoulder, and got my walk in.
Some days you won’t feel like showing up. Those are the days that matter most.
Day by day. Brick by brick. Be good. 💙

From personal experience, some days truly stand out as tougher than others — like when everything seems to go wrong, and the tide isn't moving in your favor. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when external issues pile up, such as unexpected car problems or difficult conversations with homeowners who missed their refinancing window. What I’ve found most helpful is reaffirming my commitment to my goals, regardless of emotional lows or setbacks. When dealing with clients who have waited too long to refinance or tap into their home equity, it’s heartbreaking to see their options diminish because their credit scores drop due to accumulating debts. This highlights the importance of acting early to conserve equity, reduce debt, and improve cash flow. Being proactive, rather than reactive, can make all the difference. On days when I'd rather give up, pushing through sometimes means just starting with a small step—like a walk or a short run—to clear the mind and regain focus. Discipline built day by day, brick by brick, helps build resilience. Remember, consistency is key, especially in industries like mortgage brokering where timing and financial readiness can impact clients' lives profoundly. Sharing experiences like these helps me connect with others on similar journeys. If you're navigating the ups and downs of debt management, refinancing, or simply striving for personal growth, know that struggle is part of the process. Tackling tough days head-on strengthens both your mindset and skillset. Keep showing up, even when the tide seems against you, because those moments build character and success over time.
