... Read moreHey plant lovers! You know how much I adore my Monstera Albo, and that stunning white and green variegation is truly a masterpiece, isn't it? It’s what drew me to this plant in the first place, and seeing those beautiful fenestrations develop just melts my heart. But beyond just admiring its beauty, I've learned a few things about keeping these rare beauties thriving, especially if you’re starting with a cutting like I did! One of the biggest questions I get is about maintaining that gorgeous variegation. Getting the right light is key! My Albo thrives in bright, indirect light – never direct sun, as those delicate white parts can scorch easily. I rotate mine regularly to ensure all sides get even light exposure, which helps keep the variegation strong and vibrant across all the new leaves. Humidity also plays a huge role; I keep a humidifier nearby, especially in drier months, or group it with other plants to create a microclimate. This really helps those big leaves unfurl beautifully without tearing and encourages those striking white patches to develop fully. Speaking of new plants, propagating a Monstera Albo from a cutting can be so rewarding! When I first got my Albo cutting, I made sure it had at least one node and an aerial root. I’ve had success rooting in both water and moss. For water, I change it every few days to keep it fresh and prevent rot. If using moss, I keep it consistently moist but not soaking wet. Patience is absolutely crucial here; it can take weeks, sometimes months, to see those first new roots emerge. Once the roots are a few inches long, it’s time to pot it up in a well-draining aroid mix. Seeing those tiny roots grow and then eventually a new leaf unfurl from your very own Albo cutting is an incredible feeling! Beyond propagation, general care for your Monstera Albo isn't too complicated once you get the hang of it. I water mine when the top two inches of soil feel dry, usually once a week or so, but always check the soil before watering. Overwatering is a common killer for these plants! I also make sure it has good air circulation to prevent fungal issues. And don't forget to fertilize lightly during the growing season – I use a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every few weeks. Keeping an eye out for pests is always a good idea too, though my Albo has been pretty resistant so far. The Monstera Albo truly stands out with its unique white and green marbled leaves and distinctive fenestrations. It’s more than just a pretty plant; it’s a living piece of art that brings so much joy to my home. If you're considering adding one to your collection, I highly recommend it. The effort you put into its care, especially nurturing a cutting, will be rewarded tenfold with its breathtaking beauty. Happy planting!

Change the water to stop the browning and water less frequently.
