A moment that felt like the ocean was showing its magic ✨🥹♥️🌊🐢 #seaturtle #aruba #trestrapi
Oh my goodness, you guys! My recent trip to Aruba was absolutely unforgettable, and the highlight? Definitely my magical encounter with sea turtles at Tres Trapi! I've seen pictures, but nothing prepares you for the feeling of being in the water with these majestic creatures. It truly felt like the ocean was putting on a special show just for me. If you're dreaming of swimming with turtles, Tres Trapi is the spot, and I want to share everything I learned to help you have your own amazing experience! First things first, getting to Tres Trapi is pretty straightforward. It's located on the northwest side of Aruba, a bit past the high-rise hotel area. I rented a car, which gave me the freedom to explore, but you can also take a taxi. Just look for the small, rocky cove – it's not a sandy beach, but don't let that deter you! The entry can be a little rocky, so I highly recommend bringing water shoes or reef shoes. Trust me, your feet will thank you! For the best chance of seeing turtles, I found that going early in the morning was key. Not only are the waters calmer, making for better visibility, but there are also fewer people. I arrived around 8 AM, and it felt like I had the whole ocean to myself for a bit. The turtles tend to be more active feeding in the morning before it gets too busy. What should you bring? Definitely your snorkeling gear! While you can rent some on the island, having your own ensures a comfortable fit. A good quality mask and snorkel are essential for clear views. Don't forget reef-safe sunscreen to protect both your skin and the delicate marine ecosystem. And honestly, a waterproof camera is a must! I captured some incredible footage that I'll cherish forever. Now, for the exciting part – spotting the turtles! Tres Trapi is known for its shallow, crystal-clear waters, which makes spotting them a bit easier. I just floated gently and patiently, looking for movement near the seagrass beds. It wasn't long before I saw my first one gracefully gliding by! Remember, these are wild animals, so always maintain a respectful distance. Never touch them, chase them, or feed them. We're visitors in their home, and it's our responsibility to observe them without disturbance. It's truly a privilege to witness them in their natural habitat. Beyond the turtles, the snorkeling at Tres Trapi is fantastic in itself. There are beautiful coral formations and a variety of colorful fish to see. The water is so inviting, and the whole atmosphere is just so peaceful. It’s a great spot to just relax and soak in Aruba's natural beauty. My day at Tres Trapi was an absolute dream. It wasn't just about seeing turtles; it was about connecting with nature in a profound way. If you’re heading to Aruba and searching for an unforgettable wildlife encounter, put Tres Trapi on your list. You won't regret experiencing this little slice of ocean magic yourself!
