Rating FM books I’ve read

Like many I was introduced to Freida McF through the housemaid series but (unpopular opinion) I don’t think they are her best books.

📕 the Housemaid - gripping, fast-paced, strong twists, though some plot holes and an overly neat ending. Best of the 3 books.

📚the Housemaid’s secret - An unrealistic and overcomplicated plot that was hard to believe, saved slightly by a more unexpected ending, though it still didn’t live up to the first book.

📖 the Housemaid is watching - A solid page-turner with an unexpected ending, better than book two, not as strong as the first.

📗Do Not Disturb - A creepy roadside motel setting with an engaging plot and clever misdirection, an easy, perfect holiday thriller read.

📘The Tenant - Another great twister with lots of secrets and deception, I was convinced the wrong person was guilty almost until the end.

📕The Boyfriend - A perfect boyfriend is not what he seems. A layered psychological thriller that keeps reshaping the puzzle. One of my favourite endings from Freida McF.

📘The Teacher - A student and a teacher, inappropriate relationship and one death. A slow-burn, unsettling suspense with disturbing relationships that hooked me early, sagged slightly at the big reveal, but redeemed itself with unexpected final twist.

📙The Inmate - Narrative alternates between past and present which adds to the deception, was he convicted for the wrong reason. Another one which keeps you on your toes till the very end. #freshlemon8 #booktok #tbr #bookreccomendations #thrillerbooks
