Thing We Never Got Over - disappointed

From the start, I really enjoyed the plot of this book, small town romance, twin sisters (good and bad) with elements of crime and suspense.

However, I found this a pretty trashy read, there’s no character development, the relationship is very superficial, the jokes are not funny and even though it dives straight into action, it quite slow paced. Reminded me a lot of It Ends With Us, but a lot less emotional and main characters are quite annoying (Naomi), misogynistic (Knox) and flat. Conversations have no substance.

Overall, it was an easy read, good enough for holiday and I did enjoy Stef as a character, good banter and sharp comments.

Probably would give a go to the second book a go but not at the top of my list and I fear it will just be more trashy. #BookReview #booksoflemon8 #booktok #smalltownromance #romancebooks
