When I was little✨

2024/8/3 Edited to

... Read moreOh, the joy of rummaging through the attic of my mind and pulling out those precious gems from 'when I was little'! It’s incredible how certain moments, seemingly small at the time, become these vivid 'pocket memories' that I can still feel and almost taste. These aren't necessarily grand, milestone events, but rather those simple, sweet childhood adventures that profoundly shaped my world and how I see things now. I often find myself smiling at the recollection of building forts in the living room with blankets and pillows, convinced it was an impenetrable castle. The thrill of crafting a secret hideout, complete with whispered plans and imaginary enemies, felt like the grandest of 'parenting adventures' – even though I was the child experiencing them! Or the excitement of discovering a 'secret path' in our backyard, which was really just a patch of overgrown weeds, but to my young eyes, it was an untamed jungle waiting to be explored, a true expedition right at home. One 'pocket memory' that always brings warmth to my heart is the distinct smell of freshly baked cookies wafting from my grandmother's kitchen on a lazy afternoon. It wasn't just the cookies; it was the quiet, comforting atmosphere, listening to her gentle stories, and feeling her patient hands guiding mine as we rolled out dough. And then there’s the sheer exhilaration of the first time I successfully rode my bike without training wheels – that incredible feeling of freedom, the wind rushing through my hair, convinced I could fly. Each wobbly pedal stroke was a small victory, a mini adventure that boosted my confidence. Who could forget those endless summer days? The sun felt impossibly brighter, the grass greener, and time stretched out forever. Chasing fireflies in the twilight, their tiny lights blinking like magic, or spending hours by a local creek, turning over rocks to find tiny creatures – these were the purest forms of discovery and joy. Telling ghost stories under a makeshift tent in the living room, or simply lying on the grass, naming fantastical shapes in the clouds above – these were the moments that built a foundation of wonder and imagination that I still tap into today. These 'pocket memories' are more than just nostalgia; they're like little anchors to a simpler, more innocent time. They remind me of the magic found in everyday things, the boundless curiosity of a child, and the profound importance of savoring every single moment. As adults, we often get caught up in the hustle and bustle, the responsibilities and the future, but taking a moment to revisit 'when I was little' can bring so much joy, perspective, and a renewed sense of appreciation. It helps me acknowledge the beautiful, small moments that truly make up a life's journey. What are some of your most cherished 'pocket memories' from your own childhood adventures?

Renaissance Festival When I Was Little
I love festivals and when I was little, we would go here and it was so much fun. My mom would make me little headbands kind of similar to that one but with ribbon wrapped around and some fake flowers. It went all around my head so I guess it was a crown. They have jousting and I used to get scared

Micro-cheating: when do we draw the line?
Hello friends! 🍋 You know those little things that make you feel uncomfortable, but you’re not sure if it’s a big deal, or not. I had that a lot on my previous relationship. It’s not full “cheating”, but it’s those small actions that can definitely unbalance our trust. Like texting someo
