Island Hopping Siargao, PH: Things To Know 🏝

If you're interested in pristine beaches and swimming in clear water, you won't really find that on the main island of Siargao. The main island is very rocky with strong waves which really makes it perfect for surfing. Luckily these beautiful beaches are only a short boat ride away. There are several to choose from but we did the most popular one!

Siargao Island Tour - Naked, Daku, Guyam

Things to Know

🥥 You can join tours to explore these islands - whether public or private. Public tours usually fit up to 15 people and you pay around $20 per person.

🥥 We were a group of 4 and decided to do a private tour which we arranged with our hotel. It cost about $60 per person, but it meant that we had the entire boat to our group and had complete control over our time. We had our own boat, driver, and guide!

🥥 The tour starts at Naked Island Beach which gets its name from the lack of trees. Groups don't tend to stay that long here for this reason. This island has no shade at all but a nice beach which makes it perfect for a dip.

🥥 The second stop is Daku Island where everybody gets to relax a bit longer and have some lunch. Lunch is included in the tour and included a classic Philippine "boodle fight" style spread - with grilled meats & seafood, rice & noodles, and at least 3 kinds of fruit. DELICIOUS and probably one of the best (and approved) boodle fights I've ever had.

🥥 The last stop is Guyam Island which has a bar, some seating, and also a nice beach to swim in.

There are other islands you could add on to your tour such as Corregidor Island (also quite famous) but we weren't able to do that this time around. If you have the time - I highly recommend adding it on!

Is the Philippines on your list? Save this for future reference!

... Read moreAfter experiencing the magic of Siargao's island hopping firsthand, I've gathered even more insights to help you plan your perfect day out. While the main island is famed for its surf, it’s these offshore havens that deliver those postcard-perfect clear and turquoise waters you’ve been dreaming of. Let’s dive a bit deeper into what makes each stop on the Naked, Daku, and Guyam tour so special. Naked Island, true to its name, is a minimalist beauty—just pure white sand stretching out into the sea. It’s ideal for a quick, refreshing dip and soaking up sun without any distractions. Remember to slather on plenty of sunscreen as there’s no shade, but the feeling of stepping onto that pristine, treeless sand is unforgettable. The aerial view of this island from above truly captures its untouched charm. Daku Island is where the real relaxation begins. This larger island is abundant with lush palm trees swaying gently, providing much-needed shade after the sun exposure at Naked Island. This is typically where your incredible boodle fight lunch will be served. Imagine a vibrant spread of freshly grilled seafood (squid, fish, shrimp), meats, noodles, and an assortment of tropical fruits like mangoes and pineapples, all laid out on banana leaves right on the beach. Eating with your hands, surrounded by the stunning scenery and the sound of gentle waves, is an authentic Filipino experience you won't forget. Our feast included a “SIARGAO” rice arrangement, which was a fun touch! Finally, Guyam Island, though small, packs a punch with its charm. It’s like a tiny, perfectly formed paradise with its own little bar, swings, and cozy spots to just unwind. The clear, shallow waters here are perfect for a final swim before heading back. You’ll find those picturesque coconut palms dotting the landscape, making it a favorite for photos. For those planning their trip, consider bringing a waterproof bag for your electronics, a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, and definitely a good quality camera to capture the breathtaking scenery, especially the traditional Filipino outrigger boats (bangka) gently bobbing in the clear waters. While booking through hotels is convenient, you can often find local boatmen offering private tours at General Luna pier. Don't be afraid to compare prices and ensure safety. If you have extra time, I highly recommend looking into adding Corregidor Island or even Sugba Lagoon to your Siargao itinerary for more diverse experiences. These spots also boast incredible clear waters and opportunities for adventure.
