Mullein for Dogs – Why I Use It & How
Most folks don’t realize dogs can benefit from herbs too .. when you use the right ones. Mullein is one of my go-to herbs for respiratory healing, and yes… I give it to my dog. 🐾
🔍 What It Does:
Mullein is a powerful respiratory herb that helps clear mucus, calm coughs, and reduce inflammation in the lungs.
Whether your dog is dealing with kennel cough, seasonal mucus, or just needs some lung support, mullein comes through every time.
🌿 How I Use It:
I make a light tea (just a pinch of dried mullein leaf in hot water) and let it cool.
I drizzle a small spoonful over his food or mix it in his broth.
If he's congested, I use the steam from the tea to let him inhale gently (no forcing, I just set it nearby).
You can also infuse the leaf into oil and rub it on the chest or paw pads for gentle support.
⚠️ Things to Remember:
Don’t overdo it. Start with small amounts.
Only use dried mullein leaf — not the root, not the flowers.
Always make sure your herb source is clean and pesticide-free.
This ain’t no trend. This is ancestral healing — applied with intention.
And the results? Clear breathing, no meds, and a thriving dog with a shiny coat and strong lungs. 💚
