I used to think Bible study was only about understanding scripture, but it's also about seeing how these ancient stories apply to our lives today. They meticulously avoided anyone they deemed unclean, yet here was Jesus, sharing a meal, breaking bread, and engaging with the very people society had cast aside. This scene isn't just a historical event; it's a powerful lesson in inclusion and divine compassion. The image of Jesus at the table, surrounded by these individuals, titled 'Share Jesus,' truly resonated with me. It highlights His purpose: not to isolate Himself among the 'righteous,' but to actively seek out and minister to those who needed Him most. His response to the Pharisees’ criticism is iconic: "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." This analogy hit me hard. It's a reminder that all of us are 'sick' in some way, needing Christ's rescue and healing. Nobody is beyond God's reach or too far gone for His love. This passage shifted my perspective on what it means to 'Share Jesus.' It's not about standing on a pedestal and judging others; it's about meeting people where they are, just as Jesus did. My own journey has shown me that love is the most powerful evangelism. When we truly love and help one another, without judgment, we embody Christ's message. It's about being present, listening, and offering compassion, recognizing that the very act of connection can be a profound demonstration of God's grace. So, how do we put this into practice? For me, it means consciously stepping out of my comfort zone. It means not just praying for opportunities to share God's love, but actively looking for them. It means challenging my own preconceived notions about people and remembering that everyone is a child of God, deserving of love and respect. Just as Jesus taught His disciples through His actions, we are called to interact with 'sinners' and 'tax collectors' of our modern world – those who are marginalized, misunderstood, or simply different from us. By doing so, we become true reflections of His inclusive love, spreading His word not just through sermons, but through genuine, heartfelt connection.
