ACNH: Witch Academy

I know how much fun the Happy Home Paradise DLC is for unleashing your inner interior decorator, and I’ve been absolutely obsessed with creating a magical Witch Academy on my island. If you’re looking to conjure up some enchanting witchy rooms, a mysterious dark academia study, or even a full witch house in ACNH, you’ve come to the right place for inspiration! My journey started with wanting to create a true 'Witch Academy' vibe, combining classic magical elements with a scholarly, slightly gothic aesthetic. For the main school building, I focused on a grand entrance, almost like a castle, but the real magic happens inside! I found that designing a dedicated classroom was key. Think rows of desks and chairs, a prominent blackboard (or even a music blackboard if you want a divination class!), and plenty of natural light streaming in from the windows, perhaps adorned with wreaths for an extra touch. Adding items like a skeleton and an anatomical model instantly brings that old-world educational feel, perfect for a potion or anatomy class! When it came to crafting a witchy library or study, I went all out with bookshelves – absolutely packed with books, of course! You can layer them with other items like globes, candles, and even a crystal ball for fortune-telling lessons. The trick is to create a sense of history and knowledge. I love using darker wood furniture and rich, jewel-toned accents to give it that authentic dark academia room feel. Don't forget about unique lighting; chandeliers add a touch of grandeur, but smaller, scattered candles create that perfect cozy, mystical glow. For individual witch rooms or even a witch house for a specific villager, like Mathilda or Whitney, personalize it! Mathilda might enjoy a more elegant, potion-making lab, while Whitney could have a sophisticated study filled with ancient texts. Consider items that hint at their unique personalities while still fitting the witchcore theme. I often incorporate a locker or two for a student dorm feel, and imagine custom designs for spell books or ancient maps scattered on desks. The beauty of the HHP DLC is how much freedom it gives you. You can literally build an entire university campus if you wish! I’ve even designed a separate 'dorm' area with multiple witch hats hanging on hooks. Experiment with different wallpapers and flooring – think dark stone, ornate wood, or even custom designs that look like ancient runes. The goal is to make every corner feel like a hidden discovery, full of secrets and magic.
