Mr. Buncha

Okay, so you know how much I rave about the Strawberry Milk at Mr. Buncha? Seriously, it's become my go-to whenever I'm in Sunnyside, Queens. That creamy, sweet, and perfectly strawberry-infused drink is just chef's kiss and for $5, it's such a treat. But what I've learned since my first visit is that Mr. Buncha is so much more than just amazing strawberry milk! I recently went back to explore their other offerings, especially since I kept seeing people mention 'Buncha Boba' online. And let me tell you, their bubble tea selection is legit! I tried their classic Thai Iced Tea with boba, and it was fantastic – perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and those tapioca pearls were just the right chewiness. They have a huge menu of bubble tea options, from fruit teas to milk teas, and I'm slowly working my way through them all. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite bubble tea spots in Queens. What really surprised me, though, was discovering they also serve food! While sipping on my drink, I noticed their menu prominently featured 'KHAO MUN KAI', which I later learned is a classic Thai Hainanese Chicken Rice. I decided to be adventurous and ordered it on a subsequent visit, and it was absolutely delicious – tender, flavorful poached chicken served over fragrant rice with a fantastic ginger-garlic dipping sauce. And for those who love a bit of crunch, their 'CRISPY CHIC' (Crispy Chicken) is also on the menu and looks incredible. It’s a game-changer to find a place that excels at both drinks and authentic Thai food. The vibe at Mr. Buncha is super chill, making it a great spot to grab a quick bite or just hang out with friends while sipping on a refreshing drink. It's located right in the heart of Sunnyside, making it really convenient if you're ever in the neighborhood. Parking can be a little tricky, as with most places in Queens, but it's easily accessible by public transport (the 7 train is just a short walk away). The staff are always friendly and happy to help you navigate their extensive menu. I love how it feels like a little piece of Thailand right here in Queens. Whether you're craving that amazing Strawberry Milk, a classic bubble tea like Iced Thai Tea, or something more adventurous like Khao Mun Kai or Crispy Chicken, Mr. Buncha truly has something for everyone.
