change doesn’t happen quite the way we think it does - today’s podcast episode is the last one in my summer series where I try and change your mind about something
Today we’re talking about the breakthrough - and how change occurs under the surface
Come podcast I’ll send you the link!
From my own experience exploring personal growth and transformational change, I've learned that what we often perceive as "breakthroughs" rarely occur in a sudden or dramatic fashion. Instead, real change tends to accumulate quietly beneath the surface, building momentum through repeated shifts in mindset and awareness. This subtle process can feel like a 'rise in level,' where we become more conscious of our internal saboteurs and begin to disempower limiting beliefs gently—rather than forcing change upon ourselves. For instance, when I tried to stop negative self-talk, the key was not to confront it loudly or harshly but to allow myself to recognize and understand this inner voice. This awareness gradually became louder than the saboteur itself, creating space for empowerment. It's important, as discussed in the podcast's themes, to treat our journey toward change like a mirror reflecting our inner experience. We often seek external validation for our progress, but real change is about self-reflection and patience with the process. Bringing conscious attention to subtle shifts helps us maintain momentum without harsh self-criticism. I’ve found that incorporating a bit of what the podcast playfully calls "woo"—such as mindfulness or intuitive insights—can add a dash of magic to these transformations. Rather than relying solely on willpower, allowing energy to flow and supporting oneself gently can foster lasting breakthroughs. If you’re feeling stuck or frustrated by slow progress, know that this surface-level resistance is common. Instead of forcing change, try to be kind and empathetic with yourself, letting the energy of transformation build quietly. Over time, this approach leads to more sustainable and authentic breakthroughs, truly changing you from the inside out.
