if you relate to this, I want you to listen to what I have to say in this reel 👂🏼
I’m speaking to the photographers who absolutely hate being on social media, feel super cringe being perceived, and wish they could just do their art 😮💨
contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to live on social media to run a successful and profitable@photography portrait business - or any creative business, for that matter
I work with creative of all kinds, and not just photographers in my one-on-one coaching, and I don’t think I have EVER met any creative who actually is excited about putting their face on social media to promote their business 😅
Most of us are introverts, myself included; however, there is a way to build the business that fits your life and your personality!
You shouldn’t be chasing every trend and you shouldn’t be copying what other people are doing; how do you expect to ever stand out if you do that? 🤷🏻♀️
My job as a coach is to help you root into what makes you 100% completely you and then I teach you how to express that unapologetically everywhere
If you want to use social media, you can, but if you don’t want to be on it all day there’s definitely a way to build it so that the strategy works for you, but your face doesn’t always have to be plastered all over your Instagram
If the business does not feel good to you, you’re not going to do it for very long
I’m also a certified life coach and not just a business coach so we work on the mindset as well as the strategy and honestly the strategy can’t even be implemented until we fix some of those limiting beliefs that you have 💥
Because you’ve probably purchased courses or templates that you couldn’t make work - that’s your unconscious programming and that’s what we work on first
I prefer to work one on one and I prefer to work with creatives who are READY to really go there with their personal development as well as scaling their business - who are probably neurodivergent 😂
But don’t let anybody ever tell you that you have to be yapping on camera all day to run a business because that is simply not true
As someone who has navigated the challenges of building a creative business without constantly being glued to social media, I can truly relate to the struggle of wanting to focus on your art rather than becoming a full-time content creator. Many photographers and creatives feel uneasy about self-promotion and the pressure to constantly appear online, which can be exhausting and ultimately unsustainable. What I’ve learned is that success doesn’t require you to fit into a one-size-fits-all marketing mold. When I started my own business, I realized that the key was tapping deeply into what makes me unique and communicating that in a way that felt authentic to me. It’s okay to be introverted and still thrive. Building a brand that reflects your true self—without copying trends or forcing yourself to be overly visible on social platforms—is entirely possible. In fact, focusing on your strengths and serving your ideal clients authentically can lead to stronger, longer-lasting business relationships. One practical step that helped me was addressing limiting beliefs around marketing and promotion. Often, we buy courses or templates that don’t resonate, causing frustration and self-doubt. Working on mindset and personal development first was a game-changer, allowing me to implement strategies that felt natural and effective rather than overwhelming. If you dread appearing on camera or hate the idea of daily social media engagement, consider alternative marketing methods, such as email newsletters, word-of-mouth referrals, and niche community engagement. These approaches allow you to grow without compromising your comfort or personality. Remember, running a creative business should feel good and sustainable. Burnout often comes from trying to fit a mold that doesn’t fit you. Focus on developing a brand aligned with who you are, and build your strategy around that foundation. This tailored approach not only helps maintain your passion for your art but also leads to a profitable and fulfilling business journey.
