My artistic plans for 2025
For 2025, I have three big artistic goals I’m excited to pursue:
1. **Bring new characters to life** – I want to create unique, meaningful characters that I can truly connect with through my art.
2. **Collaborate more** – I’m eager to work with other artists, expand my creative circle, and learn from their perspectives.
3. **Focus on joy, not pressure** – There’s so much pressure to overachieve, but this year, I just want to enjoy the process, create freely, and not get caught up in the numbers or It’s expectations.

Every artist, myself included, faces those frustrating moments when inspiration just won't strike. It feels like hitting a wall, a 'creative block' that can really derail your passion. When I'm working on my concept sketches, especially trying out new designs, like that little bear I'm developing for 2025, I sometimes feel stuck. But I've learned a few strategies that truly help to keep the joy flowing and the ideas coming! One of the biggest lessons for me is to embrace the process over perfection. Just like my goal to focus on joy, not pressure, sometimes the best way to overcome a block is to let go of expectations. Instead of striving for a masterpiece, try just playing around. Experiment with new lines, shapes, or even a different medium entirely. If you usually sculpt, try sketching. If you usually illustrate, maybe experiment with a quick, loose painting. This shift can often unlock fresh perspectives and new ideas you didn't even know you had. Remember those moments when you wanted to 'try new things for 2025'? That's exactly it – stepping outside your comfort zone can be a powerful antidote to feeling stuck. Collaboration is another fantastic way to shake things up. When you work with other artists, you're exposed to different techniques, viewpoints, and problem-solving approaches. It's like having a fresh pair of eyes on your own work, or a brainstorming partner to bounce ideas off of. I'm really looking forward to collaborating more next year because I know it will push my boundaries and introduce me to concepts I might not have considered on my own. It helps diversify your creative input and can spark entirely new directions for your art. Another simple yet effective trick is to step away from your project. Go for a walk, visit a museum, read a book, or even just tidy your workspace. Giving your mind a break allows it to process subconsciously and often, a solution or a new burst of inspiration will emerge when you least expect it. Keep a small sketchbook handy for when these unexpected ideas pop up – even a quick scribble can be the start of something amazing, whether it's for a new character design or a whole new series. Don't underestimate the power of a fresh environment or a mental detox. Finally, remember why you started creating in the first place. For me, it's about bringing new characters to life and the sheer joy of creation. When you remember that core passion, it can reignite your drive and help you push past any temporary creative hurdles. Don't be afraid to try different approaches or even embrace a completely different style for a short period. The journey of artistic exploration is endless, and every block is just an invitation to find a new path forward. Embracing these challenges as opportunities for growth can radically change your artistic outlook and keep your creativity vibrant.
