... Read moreDuring my Tokyo trip, I had the chance to explore some iconic spots beyond DisneySea that really captured the city's diverse charm. One fascinating experience was visiting Tsukiji Fish Market. Although the inner wholesale market has moved, the outer market remains a bustling hub of fresh seafood stalls and traditional eateries. Sampling chirashi don, a bowl of fresh sashimi over rice, was a delicious highlight and a must-try for any traveler. I also enjoyed wandering through the vibrant Ginza shopping street, where I found flagship stores like Uniqlo and Muji, alongside specialty shops offering everything from high-end cosmetics to traditional sweets like matcha treats from Kaminari Issa. Another recommendation is the Metropolitan Government Observatory, which offers a free entry viewpoint just as impressive as the Shibuya Sky. It’s a great spot to get panoramic views of the Tokyo skyline without the crowds. If you’re interested in local foods, Rokurinsha in Koenji is famous for its dumplings, especially those with a well-balanced vegetable filling that I heard many travelers rave about. Although I didn’t get to try all the spots due to limited planning, I recommend reserving or planning in advance for popular experiences like the Harry Potter Studio Tour and teamLab to fully enjoy what Tokyo has to offer. Overall, Tokyo’s mix of modern attractions and traditional markets gave me a wonderful peek into the city’s culture. For first-time visitors, being flexible with your itinerary can lead to unexpected discoveries. If you’re planning to visit, definitely consider these iconic locations and local food experiences to make the most of your trip.

Tokyo was truly a foodie’s dream. From sushi and ramen to cute cafes and local favourites, every meal felt like a highlight. Honestly, it’s so hard to fit everything I ate into just 10 slides here. I tried to capture a mix of classics and hidden gems - think melt-in-your-mouth grilled fishes,
