It's not just about meditating; it's about being fully present in interactions and truly listening to your body and intuition. Think about it: when you're talking to someone, do you feel an uplift, a sense of connection, or do you start to feel subtly drained, anxious, or heavy? That gut feeling, those almost imperceptible shifts in your mood or energy level – those are your internal alarms. This is where the idea of 'our eyes speak' comes in. Sometimes, people might say all the right things, but their non-verbal cues, their energy, or even just a fleeting look in their eyes can tell a different story. Learning to trust that inner knowing, that subtle whisper, is crucial for being selective about who gets your precious time and attention. I've found that when I ignore those subtle cues, I almost always regret it later. So, how do we become more discerning? Start by consciously checking in with yourself before, during, and after interactions. Before meeting someone, set an intention to protect your energy. During, pay attention to how you *feel*, not just what's being said. Are you constantly trying to uplift them, or is the exchange balanced? Afterwards, do you feel energized or exhausted? Journaling about these experiences can help you identify patterns. You might notice certain people or situations consistently leave you depleted. Being selective about who deserves your time and attention is self-care, and it often means setting boundaries. This isn’t about being mean; it’s about self-respect. It's an ongoing practice, but one that truly pays off in every area of your life.
