tried this affogato spot along telok ayer and here’s my honest take!
it’s right along the walkway with a few small benches outside. nice for a quick stop, but it does get pretty hot in the day and crowded during lunch
i’d come here for a short coffee break, not really somewhere to sit and catch up for long
would recommend going during off peak if you can
the gelato melts quite fast once the drink is poured, especially in the heat, so best to have it right away
tried a couple of combinations but the classic vanilla + espresso still hits the most. simple, just works. they’ve got other options too if you don’t take coffee
also finally tried the butter tteok after seeing it everywhere. crispy outside, chewy in the middle, quite addictive

They offer matcha vanilla and pistachio + matcha combinations, which bring a refreshing twist to the traditional affogato. For a chilled experience, their -86°C matcha latte is smooth and creamy—just remember to wait 10 seconds after ordering for the perfect taste.
The butter tteok (mochi) is a definite highlight. Having tried it both at the café and toasted at home, I can say it tastes fantastic either way. The crispy outside with a chewy, soft center makes it addictive and a great snack alongside your coffee.
Since AiFOKATO is located right in the CBD at 111 Telok Ayer Street, it’s an excellent spot for a quick afternoon pick-me-up. Just be prepared for the heat and crowds during lunchtime; early morning or late afternoon visits might offer a more relaxed vibe. Seating is limited to a few small benches outside, so it’s best suited for a short break rather than a long chat.
If you’re not a coffee drinker, the menu includes other refreshing options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Overall, AiFOKATO combines quality gelato and coffee vibes with unique flavors, making it a must-visit for affogato lovers in the city.
