This is a popular roadside station not only as a rest but also as a sightseeing spot where you can enjoy leisurely.
Lake Kawaguchiko and a large lawn "Kokai Park" are spreading in front of you, and the feeling of openness is amazing.
There is also a lakeside promenade (about 1.6 km), perfect for walks and picnics.

You can see Lake Kawaguchiko from the circular observation deck on the second floor.
It's pretty beautiful in the evening.

道の駅かつやまは、単なる休憩スポットを超えて、自然と触れ合いながらゆったり過ごせる場所として私もお気に入りです。私が訪れた時は、午後の柔らかな日差しが湖面にキラキラと反射し、2階の円形展望台からの眺めが特に印象的でした。 また、巨峰ミックスソフトクリームはさっぱりとした甘さの巨峰味とミルクのクリーミーさが絶妙にマッチしていて、食べ歩きにぴったり 。休憩しながら湖畔の遊歩道を散歩し、小海公園の広い芝生でピクニックするのも最高の癒し体験です。 さらに、道の駅内にあるレストランでは、地元食材を使った多彩なメニューが楽しめます。名物の「イトリキカレー」や豊富なハンバーグメニューもあり、食事目的でも満足できます。山梨ならではの新鮮な野菜やシーフードを使った料理は、地元の味をしっかり堪能できる内容で、何度も訪れたくなる魅力があります。 季節ごとに違った景色を楽しめるのも嬉しいポイント。春の桜並木、夏の涼しい高原気候、秋の紅葉と湖面のコントラスト、冬の静けさは、それぞれに特別な情緒があり、毎回違った癒しを与えてくれます。河口湖周辺の混雑を避け静かにリラックスしたい方には特におすすめの穴場です。 これから訪れる人には、富士山の眺望は少し難しいことを事前に知っておくと良いでしょう。しかし、その分、河口湖の自然と空の広さをゆったりと味わえる場所として、心身のリフレッシュにぴったりです。アクセスも河口湖インターチェンジから車で約10分と便利なので、気軽に立ち寄れるのが嬉しいですね。
