Live with honor
One of my favorite overwatch ults I pulled off #ow #reinhardt
Wow, getting a Play of the Game as Reinhardt, especially with a perfectly timed Earthshatter, is one of the most satisfying feelings in Overwatch! When my name, 'DEATHSTORM20', flashes across the screen for a clutch move, it makes all the practice worthwhile. It's not just about hitting 'Q'; it's about the entire setup and execution that leads to those moments of undivided team success. For me, the key to an impactful Reinhardt ult lies in understanding team dynamics and battlefield awareness. You need your team to be truly undivided – moving as one unit behind your glorious shield. A coordinated push, where everyone knows their role, allows Reinhardt to charge in, stunning the enemy team, and then your DPS can capitalize on the chaos. It’s a symphony of destruction, and every player has to hit their notes. I’ve learned that clear communication about ult status and target focus makes all the difference in turning a good ult into a match-winning moment. It’s about creating an environment where the enemy team has no chance to regroup or counter, hitting them with an undivided front that overwhelms their defenses. Another crucial aspect is constantly scanning the battlefield. As a Reinhardt main, your eyes are always darting. You’re looking for enemy shields that are about to break, D.Va's Defense Matrix on cooldown, Zarya's bubble usage, and especially enemy ultimate animations. Knowing exactly when to drop your shield for a quick Fire Strike, or when to commit to a potentially risky Charge, requires constant vigilance. You’re searching for that perfect window where their defenses are down, or their key healers are out of position. This kind of meticulous scan of the environment is what separates a good Rein from a great one. It's about reading the game, predicting enemy movements, and then delivering that crushing Earthshatter that secures the 'PLAY OF THE GAME' for 'DEATHSTORM20'. My personal tip for getting more impactful Earthshatters is patience. Don't feel pressured to use it immediately. Wait for the enemy to group up or commit to an attack on your team. A single-target Earthshatter is rarely worth it unless it's for a critical pick (like a Mercy in Valkyrie). Always be aware of who on your team can follow up on your stun. A shatter without follow-up damage is often a wasted ultimate. Sometimes, just breaking their shield can create enough panic for your DPS to clean up. And remember, while Overwatch is a team game, playing it free online makes it accessible to everyone, allowing countless players to dive into these epic moments without a barrier to entry. This means more opportunities for you to showcase your Reinhardt skills and contribute to those 'undivided' team victories. Knowing when to apply pressure versus holding your ground behind your shield is key to keeping your team 'undivided' and safe, leading to more victories and, of course, more PoTGs!
