I really wanted to love this one.
As a fan of the Off-Campus universe I was excited to read about Blake and Wyatt especially since they’re the children of some of my favorite characters from the original series. The book started strong for me, the opening immediately grabbed my attention, and the early drama had me shocked. I also genuinely liked Blake from the beginning and found myself rooting for her throughout the story.
Unfortunately, the romance never clicked for me. I liked Blake and Wyatt as individual characters but I never felt invested in them as a couple. A lot of the story felt repetitive with Wyatt constantly thinking about Blake while their interactions often felt immature and frustrating rather than romantic. I kept waiting for the chemistry to hit for a moment that would make me swoon, giggle, kick my feet, or feel emotionally connected to their relationship but it never happened.
My biggest issue wasn’t that I disliked the characters or that I was bored it was that by more than halfway through the book I still felt like the story wasn’t really going anywhere.
