Marathon Journey
It's been a journey to make it up to this day! Still in disbelief that I'll be running my first ever marathon this Sunday running around the entire city of Philly! From doing my first 5k in June of 2024 I had no idea that this would have such a lasting imprint on my life. Not only for my health but something just untouchable like anyone else experiencing running for the first time. Coming from being over 410 lbs to about 270 with running being a big factor just makes me teary thinking about it. Thinking I couldn't run the mile in high school, giving up easily to running without stopping. It's a big mental game that doesn't end after one season, or a certain period of time, it keeps going with benefits of my health, what I eat, when and how much sleep I get and all much more that impacts running. I know this is only the start but it's definitely been a journey that I couldn't have done without my family and friends and especially myself from getting to the start line of running a marathon. Cheers to whoever reads this fully and relates. From obese to running with purpose!
