First marathon race day pics 📸

First marathon down in the history books competed ✅

What a joyride experience it was. The highs and the lows were so real to feel it all. Running through Philly was beautiful. Definitely more hills and inclines than I expected tho lol 😝

Seeing all the amazing spectators cheering us all on was beyond amazing, it definitely gave me the strength to keep on pushing to the finish line. The crazy costumes some people were wearing was just funny, from the Lorax, the founding fathers, lord farquad, a bottle of ranch to even a pickle 🥒!

Having my family and people I love out there cheering me on at a few mike makers made it so much better for my heart to know to keep on going!!

This isn't the last marathon I do this is just the start!

Next marathon I do is in 2026, NYC Marathon for Team for Kids charity raising money for them! What a privilege I have to do that and raise awareness!

For anyone else that ran the Philly Marathon as your first marathon just like me, congrats and I'm so proud of you that we did that!!!

... Read moreRunning a first marathon is a monumental achievement that transforms both body and mind, and the Philadelphia Marathon offers a uniquely inspiring setting for this milestone. The race route winds through Philly’s vibrant streets, featuring historic landmarks, enthusiastic crowds, and unexpected inclines that challenge every runner’s endurance. The hills mentioned reveal how important it is to prepare for varying terrains regardless of the course’s reputation. Training that includes hill repeats and strength conditioning is essential to handle the physical demands of such courses. Spectators at marathons have a powerful impact on runners’ morale. In Philadelphia, the crowd doesn’t just cheer; many runners experience a sense of connection and energy from the creative costumes and personal messages among the crowd, which inject moments of joy and distraction from fatigue. Spotting family and friends along the route often provides emotional boosts that keep runners motivated. Another key aspect is the camaraderie among runners participating in their first marathon together, just like many in this community. Supporting each other—even just virtually—can bolster determination and improve the overall marathon experience. Looking ahead to the next marathon, such as the NYC Marathon in 2026, participating for a charity like Team for Kids magnifies the personal triumph by connecting the effort to a wider cause, raising funds and awareness. This adds additional purpose and inspiration beyond personal goals. If you're preparing for your first marathon, consider joining local running groups or online communities to share tips about the best gear, nutrition, and training schedules. Engaging with events like the Philadelphia Marathon can be a rewarding way to experience the sport and create lasting memories. Keep in mind the importance of pacing yourself during the race, hydration, and mental strategies to manage highs and lows throughout the course. Remember, every runner’s marathon journey is unique, and crossing that finish line is just the beginning of new goals and incredible stories to tell.
