appy 2 year runniversary to me!
Running has definitely changed my lifestyle physically, mentally, and all in between. From completing my first 5k around this time 2 years ago to running my first marathon last November to now training for the dam NYC marathon!
Over the cross of my weight loss journey I've learned so much about my body from the goods to bads to new stuff I haven't even knew about. My journey will never be over, it only just got started and I'm here for the ride!

Marking a two-year milestone in my running journey has been both exhilarating and revealing. When I first laced up my running shoes, the idea of running a marathon seemed distant, almost unattainable. Over the course of these years, I’ve run countless distances—from 5Ks and 10Ks to half marathons and my first full marathon—and I’m currently gearing up for the iconic New York City Marathon. What stands out most in this transformative experience is how much I’ve learned about my body and mind. Weight loss has been a profound part of my story, especially following gastric sleeve surgery which helped me shed over 145 pounds. With each run, I’ve gained insights into my physical limits, mental toughness, and resilience. There have been ups and downs—good days filled with energy and accomplishment, as well as tough days with aches, injuries, or emotional setbacks. But every setback has taught me something new, and every victory has reinforced my commitment. Training for marathons isn’t just about physical endurance; it’s a mental journey as well. Early mornings, late nights, managing fatigue, and balancing life’s demands alongside training can be challenging. Yet, the routine and discipline have brought unexpected benefits: improved sleep, reduced stress, and a more positive mindset. This journey has been a powerful reminder that progress isn’t linear, and some days may feel harder than others—but tomorrow always offers a fresh start. For anyone on a similar fitness or weight loss journey, I encourage you to embrace the process and celebrate small wins. Running taught me to be patient with myself and value consistency over perfection. It’s also shown me that the journey never truly ends; it evolves. Whether you’re running your first 5K or training for a marathon, each step forward is a victory. Remember, this is a personal odyssey where self-discovery and growth are just as important as the finish line. If you’re considering starting your own running adventure or weight loss path, know that setbacks are normal, but perseverance is key. Find a community, set realistic goals, and allow yourself grace. Your progress will astound you, and as I’ve experienced, it’s a life-changing ride that keeps giving back in ways you might never expect.
