Life Thoughts, Monday - 5-12-25
Hi. Welcome to Life Thoughts.
Almost 250 years ago, revolutionary ideas were written down for posterity. First came the Declaration of Independence, which endangered the signers' lives. Then, after a bloody revolution, the US Constitution was established. The creators of these historic documents were not perfect, and they knew it. Thomas Jefferson argued that the Constitution should be updated every twelve years. Once the turmoil of the current administration is finished, a new Constitutional Convention should be convened to do just that. Many articles need to be updated, and some removed. We all have thoughts on that, which should be shared with the elected officials who will be responsible to us, their constituents, and will be part of the convention.
As always, be nice, be safe, and laugh a lot.
Talk tomorrow.
If you find value in my videos or even if they just make you laugh or think, please share them. I want to reach as many people as I can. Thank you for watching.

The significance of historical documents like the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution cannot be overstated, as they continue to inspire discussions about governance and democracy. Recently, debates have resurfaced about the need for a constitutional convention aimed at revising outdated laws. As Thomas Jefferson suggested, updating such foundational texts every twelve years could better reflect modern values and societal needs. In today's rapidly changing landscape, citizen engagement is crucial. We must voice our thoughts to elected officials regarding which articles need revision or removal. This dialogue not only fosters accountability among lawmakers but also encourages active participation in shaping future policies. Reflecting on our past empowers us to advocate for a more just and equitable society.
