10/10 solemniser!! We lucked out!!

Hello everyone!

This is my first post on lemon8 and I would like to share about my solemniser. Personally I will research about my wedding stuff on lemon8, and I thought that sharing might be helpful to some of you 💕

Mine was an off-site solemnisation. Me & husband decided to ROM first, before having our wedding banquet.

Usually, you need to book your (preferred) wedding solemnizer well in advance especially if your wedding/ROM date is a popular date.

Like most brides, firstly I do my research of solemnizers on SGbrides, lemon8 etc… then I reached out to several “popular” JPs, and they were all already booked by other couples on my ROM date! And this was about ~5 months+ ahead!

This turned out to be a lucky thing for me & hubby because we then found our solemnizer and he was available to help us! He’s not even in the list of the top (xx) solemnisers in the online articles…. Truly a rare gem IMO!

He has been incredibly nice since the start when I first reached out to him. He has very prompt replies, answering any questions I had, which made me felt so assured to have secured him as our solemnizer. We had a 10mins call about 1 month prior to our ROM day where he briefed us on the process of what would happen

On our ROM day, he reached early! Punctuality is important!! He was so smiley and reassuring throughout the ROM. He helped us to emcee for a bit too! He also taught us how to pose for nice photos based on his many years of experience as solemnizer. Our whole ROM went super smoothly really thanks to him. We’re so grateful and glad to have him solemnise our marriage! 10/10 for sure!!!!

BTBs, if you’re looking for a solemnizer, i highly recommend him: MR TAN MENG 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤩🤩🤩

... Read moreBooking a wedding solemniser can be one of the most stressful parts of planning a ROM or wedding, especially with many popular solemnisers in Singapore fully booked months in advance. From my experience, flexibility and quick responses make all the difference. When I reached out to several top solemnisers and found them unavailable, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But then discovering Mr Tan Meng was truly a lucky find. His prompt and friendly replies made me feel at ease during the entire process. I appreciated the 10-minute briefing call which helped us understand exactly what to expect on the day. On the ROM day, Mr Tan Meng was punctual and brought a positive energy, smiling and reassuring us throughout the ceremony. His experience really shone through when he emceed and even gave us tips on how to pose naturally for photos, which made our wedding album even more special. It’s clear he values not just the legal aspects but also the emotional moments of the day. If you’re worried about availability or quality, I highly recommend considering solemnisers outside the typical popular lists as hidden gems exist. Mr Tan Meng was affordable, personable, and professional, which made our solemnisation stress-free and memorable. Having a solemniser who cares truly enhances the whole experience. So, for couples planning their ROM or wedding in Singapore, my advice would be to start early, research thoroughly but keep an open mind—you might just find your perfect solemniser like we did. Don’t hesitate to communicate openly and ask questions. It’s your day, and the right solemniser will help make it unforgettable.

Don’t make the same mistake as we did so you don’t have to pay 7x more to get married! 😰 Did you know that you need to apply for marriage at ROM at least 21 days before your solemnisation date. We weren’t aware of this and unconsciously missed the date by just 2 days 🥺 The consequence: We had to

Our Intimate ROM in a Cantonese Restaurant
Husband and I recently held our solemnisation at Jia He — One Farrer Hotel We hosted 28 guests (3 tables) in a private room. I would say it can comfortably fit 30-33 in total. The room was cozy, ceiling height was good, lighting was ambient and our families absolutely loved the food. 🍽️:

Before I get into what happened on our actual wedding day, I need to rewind to where it all began—when we first reached out to our solemnizer, Miss P. At first, she gave a great impression. But little did we know… that would be the last time we heard from her until three days before the wedding.
