Homemade Brown Sugar & Maple Toaster Pastries
These homemade brown sugar & maple toaster pastries are flaky, buttery, and filled with that warm cinnamon sugar goodness… then topped with a smooth maple glaze that really seals the deal. Store-bought could neverrrr.
Pastry Dough:
* 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
* 1 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
* 1 tsp salt
* 1 tsp sugar
* 1 tbsp cinnamon
* 6–8 tbsp ice water
Filling:
* ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
* 2 tsp cinnamon
* 1 tbsp flour
* 1 tbsp melted butter
Maple Glaze:
* 1 cup powdered sugar
* 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
* 1–2 tbsp heavy cream
* ¼ tsp vanilla extract
How I made them:
1. Make the dough:
Whisk dry ingredients, cut in cold butter until crumbly, then add ice water until it comes together. Chill for at least 1 hour.
2. Assemble:
Roll dough thin, cut into rectangles, add filling, seal with a fork, and poke holes on top.
3. Bake:
375°F for 17–20 minutes until lightly golden.
4. Glaze:
Mix and spread over fully cooled pastries (don’t rush this part or it’ll melt right off 👀).
Taste Notes:
Buttery, flaky layers with that cozy brown sugar cinnamon center… and the maple glaze adds a smooth, slightly caramel-like finish. It’s giving comfort food in pastry form.
Pro Tip:
Add a tiny pinch of salt to the maple glaze — it balances the sweetness and makes the flavor pop.
These are perfect for breakfast, a sweet snack, or honestly… whenever you feel like it 😭
Would you eat these warm or save them for later?
