Let’s talk “Katabasis”… am I the only one who hated it? I really wanted to love it but it just came off so pretentious that my eyes glazed over. It’s my first book I almost DNF of the year.
“Swordheart” was a pleasant surprise as I hadn’t heard any hype on this book. It really took me on a fun and heartwarming journey. I definitely recommend it.
“Youngworld” was about what I expected for a YA political book, very unrealistic, however still entertaining.
I expected more from “Dark Places” it just felt too dragged out for me. Same with “truly darkly deeply”

On the flip side, with "Dark Places" and "Truly Darkly Deeply," the pacing felt stretched, making it harder to stay fully engaged. A tighter narrative might have improved my experience with these titles. If you’re building a TBR (to-be-read) list, I’d suggest balancing your picks between anticipated bestsellers and lesser-known books that might surprise you. Checking community hashtags like #mayreads or #lemon8bookclub can be great for discovering fresh recommendations and honest opinions. Personally, I appreciate reviews that highlight both strengths and weaknesses, helping me decide if a book matches my current mood. Sharing these reading experiences helps me process what I enjoy most in books—whether it’s compelling characters, emotional journeys, or thought-provoking themes.
