It's a definite POV – you're just a girl who prefers doing her makeup on the floor, and honestly, there's nothing wrong with it! I've seen all the beautiful vanity setups, and they are gorgeous, but for some reason, sitting cross-legged on the rug, surrounded by my brushes and palettes, just feels more natural and relaxing. Maybe it's the freedom to sprawl, or the way the natural light hits differently down low, but it's where my best makeup looks happen. Here are a few things I've learned to make my floor makeup routine even better: Lighting is Key: Since you might not have a dedicated vanity mirror with lights, find a spot near a window for natural daylight. Or, invest in a good portable LED mirror with different light settings. It makes a huge difference! Organization Hacks: Just because we're on the floor doesn't mean it has to be messy. I use a couple of small, flat trays (the kind for serving snacks work great!) to keep my most-used items together. Clear acrylic organizers are also fantastic because you can see everything at a glance. When I'm done, everything goes back into a cute basket or a clear makeup bag, keeping the floor clear. Comfort is Non-Negotiable: A soft rug, a comfy cushion, or even a yoga mat can make your session much more enjoyable. Your back will thank you! Sometimes, I even lean against a beanbag chair for extra support. Mirror Matters: A handheld mirror or a compact mirror allows you to get up close and personal with your application. If you have a larger mirror, try propping it against a wall or a piece of furniture at your level. Keep it Clean: A pack of makeup wipes or a small towel nearby is a lifesaver for quick clean-ups of spills or excess powder. It helps keep your space (and your carpet!) pristine. This isn't about lacking a vanity; it's about embracing a personal ritual that works for you. There's a unique charm in the simplicity and comfort of doing makeup on the floor.
