Having recently finished Freida McFadden’s latest thriller, I can say the story truly grabbed my attention from the start. The buildup, often referred to as the "boom," was thrilling and kept me engaged through most of the chapters. However, as the story progressed and I reached about 15 chapters to go, I began to sense how the ending might unfold. This predictability slightly lessened the impact for me, but the overall experience was still very entertaining. One aspect that stood out was the prologue, which offered a shocking vibe that set high expectations for what was to come. It’s rare to find books that start so strong and maintain the intensity throughout. The pacing felt balanced, and McFadden’s writing style kept the tension alive. From a personal viewpoint, I rated the book an 8 out of 10. The reasons are mainly due to the strong character development and exciting plot twists leading towards the middle of the book. Although the conclusion didn’t quite surprise me as much as I hoped, the journey there was enjoyable. If you’re a fan of suspenseful thrillers with compelling characters, this book is worth your time. Keep in mind that while the ending might be foreseeable, it doesn’t overshadow the engaging moments throughout the story. For readers who appreciate a solid mix of intense scenes and clever writing, McFadden’s work stands out as a great choice. In summary, this book is a worthwhile read with a few predictable moments but enough surprises and emotional depth to keep thriller lovers hooked until the last page.
