Hobby reading books

#lemon8contest #AskLemon8 this what I do all the time on my down time at work. It’s really my everyday hobby. I ought to know everything in the world 🤣🤣

2025/7/18 Edited to

... Read moreIt's amazing how a simple hobby like reading can completely transform your day, isn't it? For me, it’s not just about passing time; it's a genuine passion that enriches my life in so many ways. You mentioned wanting to 'know everything in the world,' and honestly, books are the best way to do that without ever leaving your chair! One of the biggest benefits I’ve found is the incredible mental escape. After a busy day, or even during a quick break at work, getting lost in a story or diving into a fascinating non-fiction topic is my ultimate stress reliever. It’s like a mini-vacation for my mind. Beyond just relaxation, I truly believe reading has sharpened my focus and expanded my vocabulary in ways nothing else could. It's a workout for your brain! If you're looking to deepen your reading habit, I've picked up a few tips that might help. First, try to carve out a consistent time, even if it's just 15-20 minutes. For me, that's often my downtime at work or right before bed. Creating a cozy reading spot, maybe with a warm drink, also makes it feel like a special ritual. And don't feel guilty about abandoning a book that isn't grabbing you – life's too short to read something you don't enjoy! There are so many amazing books out there. Speaking of amazing books, I recently came across 'BE A TRIANGLE' by Lilly Singh. What a powerful read! It’s one of those New York Times bestsellers that really makes you think about how to go 'from being lost to getting my life into shape.' I love how some books can offer such practical insights and a fresh perspective on personal growth. It reminds me that reading isn't just for entertainment; it's a tool for self-improvement and understanding the world and ourselves better. Whether it's a gripping novel, a historical account, or a self-help guide like Lilly Singh’s, each book offers a unique window into different experiences and knowledge. Another great way to keep the passion alive is to explore different genres. Don't limit yourself! One week I might be engrossed in a fantasy epic, and the next I'm learning about a new scientific discovery. Joining a local book club or an online reading challenge can also introduce you to titles you might never have picked up otherwise. Connecting with other readers and sharing thoughts really adds another layer of enjoyment to the whole experience. Ultimately, reading as a hobby is such a personal journey. It’s about discovering what resonates with you, what sparks your curiosity, and what helps you grow. So grab that next book and happy reading!
