I just learned a couple of days ago about the selenium toxicity probability from eating more than one to two Brazil nuts a day! You would think that would be on the bag not as if I have checked or anything it might be on the bag

Yes, so true. just 1–2 nuts can meet or exceed the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for selenium (55 micrograms/day for adults). Eating more daily can cause selenium toxicity. Selenium toxicity can cause Hair loss, Nail brittleness, Fatigue, Digestive issues, Skin rashes, Nervous system symptoms, and/or Garlic-like breath odor. Not realizing these symptoms can be caused by Brazil nuts, someone may be looking at other health issues, totally missing Brazil nuts. Severe overdose (in extreme cases) can lead to neurological damage or even death, though this is rare. It's crazy how something so little can do so much damage, yet be helpful. Moderation
