Refill my favorite candle with me 🕯️
I burned through my favorite candle from Home Goods, so let’s refill it! 🎃
1️⃣ Remove all wicks from the bottom of the container with a butter knife or other tool
2️⃣ Fill the candle container with boiling water to melt all the remaining wax
3️⃣ Dump out the waxy water (just not down the drain!) and clean out any residue with goo gone or another cleanser
4️⃣ Hot glue new wicks to the bottom of your container
5️⃣ Melt your new candles using a double boiler or by putting them (inside their containers) into simmering water until they’re melted 🫠
6️⃣ ✨Carefully✨ pour the hot wax into your cleaned out container and make sure the wicks are standing up straight by aligning them with chopsticks or dowels
7️⃣ Once the wax cools and hardens, trim your wicks and enjoy! 💕
Refilling a candle is not only a cost-effective alternative to buying new ones but also an eco-friendly solution that reduces waste. To start, select a container that can withstand heat. Home Goods often offers stylish options that can enhance your home decor. When refilling, consider experimenting with different scents to create a unique aroma blend that resonates with your mood. Popular candle wax types include soy and beeswax, which both provide a cleaner burn. Moreover, using essential oils allows you to customize your fragrance profile. Safety is paramount, so ensure you follow all precautions when melting wax. Enjoy the therapeutic process of creating your own candles and the sense of accomplishment that comes with it! This DIY endeavor not only saves money but also adds a personal touch to your living space.
