... Read moreChoosing a career in integrated community care requires both dedication and practical experience. Jia Wei’s story is a great example of how starting with foundational nursing education and then gaining real-world experience in a hospital can fuel a deeper passion for eldercare. For those considering this path, it’s beneficial to seek out volunteering opportunities early, whether at nursing homes, community centers, or healthcare events. These experiences not only build your skills but also demonstrate commitment and compassion to admission panels and future employers. At RP’s Diploma in Integrated Community Care, students enhance their knowledge in supporting seniors within community settings, which includes learning to address physical, emotional, and social needs. The program emphasizes hands-on training and community involvement, preparing graduates to make meaningful impacts on eldercare. Applying through the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) allows prospective students like Jia Wei to showcase their passion and relevant experiences beyond just exam scores. Preparing a strong portfolio that highlights volunteer work and related interests can improve chances of acceptance. If you are inspired by Jia Wei’s story and want to contribute to community eldercare, consider exploring RP’s integrated community care diploma and start gaining experience early. The ability to combine healthcare skills with community support makes this career both fulfilling and in-demand.
