Too noisy

2025/9/7 Edited to

... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So, you know how sometimes people just don't get your creative energy? I've been there! Growing up, I often heard, 'CHILDREN SAID I WAS TOO NOISY,' and honestly, it sometimes felt like I was always being told to 'SIT OUTSIDE'. But instead of letting that dim my light, I decided to channel all that vibrant, sometimes chaotic, energy into my passion: cosplay! My latest project, this 'nosey animatronic' character, is a direct reflection of that experience. I wanted to create something that wasn't just visually striking but also told a story – a story of embracing your unique, sometimes inconvenient, traits. When I started brainstorming this character, I kept thinking about that feeling of being misunderstood, or even a little mischievous. This animatronic isn't just a costume; it's a personality. It's curious, a bit too loud, and definitely has a playful edge that hints at a 'danger zone' vibe without being overtly scary. Creating an animatronic-inspired look for cosplay has its own set of challenges, let me tell you! From finding the right materials to give that slightly rigid, yet expressive, feel to figuring out how to make the mask convey emotion – especially that 'nosey' curiosity. I spent weeks experimenting with different types of EVA foam and thermoplastics to get the right texture and movement. The eyes, for example, are designed to look like they're always observing, maybe even judging a little, just like when someone's being 'too noisy' and everyone's watching them. And about that 'danger zone' aspect? Well, it ties back into the idea of being 'too much' for some people. There's a certain power in owning that. Imagine a character so full of life and sound that it stands out, sometimes uncomfortably so, but always undeniably present. It's about that moment when you realize, 'yeah, I am loud, I am expressive, and maybe, just maybe, THAT PERSON WAS ME who brought a little unexpected chaos!' (Of course, in a fun, metaphorical way, not actually burning down schools, haha!) I've had so much fun wearing this cosplay at conventions and even just during photo shoots. People's reactions are priceless! Some are a little intimidated by the intensity of the character, while others are totally drawn to its unique charm. It really proves that those qualities we're sometimes told to suppress – like being 'too noisy' – can actually be our greatest strengths when channeled creatively. It’s about transforming perceived flaws into defining, powerful characteristics for your art. What 'too noisy' traits have you embraced in your creative journey?

how to handle annoying NEIGHBORS properly 😅🏡🍋
So part of the reason for making this post is because of my own “annoying” neighbor. He lives above me and his dog will bark at very specific times but really the only thing that upsets me enough to do something about it is when his dog sheds a mass amount of fur onto my patio which is beneath his.
