A whole new life I’ll be living ✨❤️🩹
Stepping into my 20s has truly felt like starting a whole new life. It’s a time of immense growth, self-discovery, and, let’s be honest, a lot of figuring things out! As someone born in 1995, I've had a few years now to look back and realize just how many 'love lessons' I've collected along the way. These aren't just about romantic relationships, but about all forms of love that shape who we are. One of the biggest lessons I’ve embraced is that self-love isn't selfish, it's essential. For so long, I thought putting others first was the only way to show I cared. But in my 20s, I've learned that you can't pour from an empty cup. Taking time for myself, setting boundaries, and truly understanding my own needs has been transformative. It’s about building a strong foundation within yourself first, so you can offer genuine love to others without losing yourself in the process. It’s a powerful realization for any 1995 baby navigating this complex world. Then there's the evolving landscape of friendships. When you're younger, your friend group might feel like a permanent fixture. But in your 20s, you start to see that some friendships naturally drift apart as paths diverge, while others deepen in unexpected ways. I've learned to cherish the friends who truly see and support me, and to gracefully let go of connections that no longer serve my growth. It's a bittersweet but necessary part of moving forward and building a life that truly aligns with who you are becoming. And of course, romantic love. Growing up, movies and media often painted a picture of fairytale romances. As a 1995 kid, I probably absorbed a lot of those ideals. But real love? It’s messy, it’s challenging, and it requires constant communication and effort. I’ve learned that a healthy relationship isn't about finding someone to complete you, but finding someone who complements you, challenges you to be better, and stands by you through thick and thin. It’s also about understanding that not every relationship is meant to last forever, and sometimes the greatest love lessons come from heartbreak, teaching you resilience and clarity about what you truly deserve. Another significant lesson has been embracing imperfection. Whether it’s in myself, my friends, or my partners, striving for perfection is a losing battle. Love, in all its forms, thrives on authenticity and vulnerability. Learning to accept flaws – both my own and those of others – has allowed for deeper, more meaningful connections. It’s about seeing the beauty in the cracks and celebrating the unique journey we’re all on. These love lessons I've gathered since 1995 are truly guiding me as I continue to build this new, exciting chapter of my life.
