A few OOTD’s to get to know me a little more🫶
It's so wonderful to connect with others who appreciate modest fashion! Beyond the daily OOTDs I love sharing, I wanted to dive a little deeper into how I approach building a practical and stylish modest wardrobe. It's not always easy, but it's incredibly rewarding to find outfits that reflect your values while still expressing your personal style. One of my biggest tips for anyone starting out or looking to refresh their modest closet is to focus on versatile staples. Think long skirts, midi dresses, layering tees, and cardigans. These pieces can be mixed and matched endlessly, making it easier to create new #outfitideas without constantly buying new items. I’ve found that investing in good quality basics in neutral colors really pays off. For instance, a well-fitting denim skirt or a flowy maxi dress can be dressed up or down for so many occasions – from a casual weekend outing to a slightly more formal gathering. Layering is truly a modest fashionista's best friend! I often pair sleeveless dresses with a long-sleeved top underneath, or wear a cardigan over a shorter-sleeved blouse. It allows me to adapt my existing wardrobe and makes getting ready so much quicker. Don't be afraid to experiment with textures and colors in your layers to add interest! Sometimes, a simple black dress gets a whole new vibe with a patterned scarf or a brightly colored long-sleeve tee underneath. It’s all about creatively using what you have to create a fresh look. Finding #modestfashion that's both trendy and appropriate can sometimes feel like a treasure hunt. I love exploring online boutiques that specialize in modest wear, but I also find great pieces at conventional stores by looking for longer hemlines, higher necklines, and looser fits. Thrifting has also been a fantastic way for me to find unique, modest gems! You'd be surprised what beautiful, timeless pieces you can uncover with a little patience. Plus, it's a sustainable way to refresh your style. When it comes to specific items, I always recommend having a few high-waisted, wide-leg trousers or palazzo pants. They are incredibly comfortable, stylish, and naturally modest. Paired with a flowy tunic or an oversized sweater, they create an effortlessly chic look. For skirts, I lean towards A-line or maxi styles as they offer both comfort and coverage. Don't forget about comfortable, stylish footwear too – flats, modest heels, or clean sneakers can complete any #pentecostal outfit beautifully. For me, dressing modestly as a Pentecostal woman is about reverence and expressing my faith, but it's also about feeling confident and comfortable in my own skin. It's a personal journey, and what works for one person might be different for another. The key is to find what makes you feel beautiful and at peace. Whether it's adding a new scarf, exploring a different color palette, or simply finding that perfect layering piece, every step in building your modest wardrobe is a step towards expressing your authentic self. I hope these extra tips inspire you on your own modest fashion journey!
