Make quick, easy and healthy meals from these 4 different sausages ✨
I love buying breakfast sausages especially chicken sausage because they’re the most lean and less processed one without nitrates. Here’s a few sausages I like.
Maple: these are my absolute favorite right now! I don’t like a sweet sausage so I was worried at first they’d taste too sweet but the maple flavor is very faint! I like to make these on the stove that’s how they taste best to me. They’re very similar to regular breakfast pork sausage!
Chicken sausage amylu: another favorite of mine! My kids love these too! They taste good microwaved or on the stove top! Also good cut up and on top of rice too for a dinner.
New chicken sausage at Aldi! This is such a cool interesting new flavor! I love the way these taste!! Super good flavor not over the top salty. Great breakfast option. They’re not overly processed either!
Dr. Pepper sausage. This one is interesting. I didn’t like the flavor of it. I love Dr Pepper and I love smoked sausage but the two flavors together are not good. Don’t recommend.

When it comes to choosing healthy sausages, I always look for ones that are lean and minimally processed to maintain both flavor and nutritional value. Chicken sausages are my go-to because they're typically lower in fat and calories compared to traditional pork sausages, and many brands offer options without added nitrates or antibiotics, which is a huge plus for health-conscious cooking. One of my favorite discoveries has been the chicken sausage patties with a faint maple flavor. Unlike sugary breakfast sausages, these provide just a subtle hint of sweetness, making them versatile for a variety of meals. I find pan-frying them on the stove really brings out the best taste and texture. For a quick breakfast, pair them with scrambled eggs and some sautéed veggies for a balanced start to the day. The Amylu chicken sausage links are another great find, especially since my kids love them. They heat up well in the microwave or on the stovetop, which is perfect for busy mornings. Cutting them into slices and adding over rice or mixed into stir-fries creates a protein-packed dinner that’s easy to prepare after a long day. Aldi’s new natural country-style chicken sausage caught my attention with its interesting yet mild flavor profile. It's not overwhelming in saltiness, which makes a big difference compared to some processed alternatives. I recently tried grilling these and serving them with roasted vegetables for a simple and wholesome meal that everyone enjoyed. While experimenting with unique flavors is exciting, not all combos work out. For example, I tried the Dr. Pepper flavored smoked sausage with high hopes, but the blend of sweet soda and smoky meat just didn't click for me. It’s a reminder that sometimes sticking with classic flavors is best if you want consistent and reliable taste. Incorporating these sausages into your meals can be a quick way to boost protein intake without sacrificing health. When shopping, look for labels indicating no nitrates, organic certification, or antibiotic-free claims to ensure you’re choosing a quality product. These sausages pair well with a variety of sides, from whole grain toast and fresh fruit at breakfast to brown rice and steamed vegetables at dinner, making them a flexible choice for different dietary needs.
