📝 Recipe:

• 4 cups wheat bread flour

👩‍🍳 How to make it:

• Mix together the flour, instant yeast, salt, and warm water until a shaggy dough forms.

• Cover the bowl with a cloth and place it in the oven (turned off) to rise for 2 hours.

• After 2 hours, sprinkle flour onto a flat surface. Wet your fingers and gently pull the dough out of the bowl.

• Stretch and fold the dough into a round loaf shape.

• Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

• While it rests, preheat your oven to 450°F with your Dutch oven inside.

• Transfer the dough onto parchment paper and carefully place it into the hot Dutch oven.

• Bake covered for 30 minutes.

• Remove the lid and bake another 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy ✨

The crust comes out perfectly crunchy while the inside stays soft, warm, and fluffy 🤎 This is so much easier than making sour dough bread! Perfect for us lazy girlies 😉 Eat it with some jam, butter or with some cheese (my personal favorite!)

... Read moreI recently tried this 4-ingredient wheat bread recipe, and I was pleasantly surprised by how effortless it was to make a delicious loaf at home. Using just basic pantry staples like wheat bread flour, instant yeast, salt, and warm water, the dough comes together quickly with no complicated steps. One tip I learned is that letting the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place (like the oven when it's turned off) really helps it develop a nice texture. The two-hour bulk rise allows the yeast to activate properly, giving the bread a lovely fluffiness inside while the 30-minute rest shapes the loaf gently for baking. Baking the bread in a preheated Dutch oven is a game-changer. It traps steam, which creates that golden, crunchy crust you see in artisanal bread. It also keeps the crumb soft and moist. I highly recommend lining the Dutch oven with parchment paper to make transferring the dough easier and to avoid sticking. This recipe is much less time-consuming than sourdough, which involves multiple feedings and long fermentation. It’s perfect for those who want homemade bread without the fuss. I love eating mine with creamy butter and jam or a slice of sharp cheddar cheese for a cozy snack. If you're new to baking bread, try this 4-ingredient recipe first to build confidence before moving on to more complex breads. The ingredients are easy to find, and the steps are straightforward—no kneading required, just mixing, rising, shaping, and baking. Overall, making this simple wheat bread at home fills your kitchen with the wonderful aroma of fresh-baked bread and provides a satisfying treat that rivals store-bought loaves. It’s definitely a win for any beginner or busy baker wanting wholesome, homemade bread with minimal effort.
