5 things learned in almost 10 years of working life ðĨđðĐðŧâðŧ
Everyone, this year has been working for 10 years. The ð time has passed very fast. Turned again for ten years. ðĩðžðĨē
I want to write a long article, corporate, first jobber, based on 10 years of working experience. ðĨđð
1. Please be overprepared. ðŠ
Overprepared is always better than underprepared.
- It's something to remind yourself and always tell all of you that before sending everything, please ð whether it's typos or formatting issues. ðĪ
It sounds very basic, but to tell you, many long-time workers still miss this point, which we feel is the most easy to fix and hardly need a brain. ð Just give it more time, check your work, check your neatness, â
- Before meeting or presenting or consulting a supervisor or colleague, do not forget to answer yourself what the objective of this is, do we have a proposed solution (should not go brain blank, what do I do? ðĨđ) and what action we want from this, what do we want him to do, otherwise we will lose and sometimes talk for two hours and do not understand what we want anyway. ð
- Having said that for a new graduate or working for a few years, people should not expect to be good at everything, have any industry knowledge and expertise, so the only thing we can do is bring good energies ððŠ― be alert, have ownership, take responsibility for their work, this is impressive and make people want to work with us. ðŦ°ðŧâĻ
2. Trust takes time to earn.
Look at building trust as a gradual process like a marathon. Not short sprint. ðââïļðĻ
Having said that, it's very difficult for everyone to suddenly trust us and accept us, ð ðŧââïļ not just one presentation or one task that we do well or one week dedication.
So don't feel discouraged if all of what we do seems invisible. This is not just for new graduates. Working long time but moving work, they all have this problem. ð So look at it as a long journey. âĻðŠ
3. Ugly truth: Trust is very easy to break. ðĨđ
Having said that when we work new, there used to be a working brother who taught us to be very mindful when receiving comments / feedback because it is very difficult to recover trust back if we still make a mistake ðĨđ At that time, I listened to it a little bit. I felt why he was so wrong.
And when we worked, we really felt like that: second chance, second chance, 2ïļâĢð not third or fourth (thats why it is called second chance).
Which for us is true. We used to have a younger brother on the team that we had to talk about the same thing repeatedly three times. It makes us feel if we can choose to work with other people that he works well. Be more sober. ðĨēð
But do not say that do not make mistakes, because mistakes make us learn, but if repeated mistakes, the same story does not correct once, even when people have already guided, the working world is not so beautiful that everyone will always forgive our mistakes. ðĨđ
4. Don't be an empty glass. ðĨ
I was confused too that I found a lot of water in the office. ð
Understand that sometimes we feel very convinced from the past, works that we are good at. We are good at ðŊð but actually everyone has their own gaps, which for us see that people who do not consider themselves to be a full glass of water, put their own ego and listen to other people will be quite grown up and attractive as well than people who are confident that they are good and do not listen to many others.
Having said that, it's not the only first jobber. People who work around midlife like us are. Nowadays, we meet a good new graduate. Sometimes we try to extract the advantages. Pull the energy we get from him to adjust as well. ðĢâšïļ
5. Stop comparing yourself to ð
This one is general, but I want to write it clearly.
Comparison is an endless cycle that creates misery. And it will never end. Because in this world there will be richer people, better working, smarter, more beautiful, better, better friends than us already. Comparing ourselves to him is tired and toxic. We used to be so heavy that we do not want to enter any social network because we do not want to see other people's lives. After finished, feel bad about ourselves. ð
I must say that we have really heard this teaching since childhood, but we have never been interested in it, because we use it as our inspiration to improve ourselves, like taking negative thoughts, wanting to be like him, to push ourselves that we have to go further to get ð is to stick to a certain level because before using it as a tool, a system that pushes us to have today (such as passing the exam, passing the faculty, wanting to graduate, getting the desired score, blah).
But I have to say, when I get older, haha? I don't know. It feels that this thing is too tired and toxic. Why do we have to be around our negative thoughts to push it to reach our goals, even though we can enjoy our journey more than just our goals?
Give me one thing, haha. I really want to write only 5 things so it's not too long, but I think this is important.
Please ðŦĢ
What do you want?
Don't understand- Ask.
Work done - Share results, update
Everyone is really interested in life. Our lives have enough to be obsessed with. There is no time to try to understand others. ð The more corporate setup that everyone is busy and busy enough. There are 108 stressful things to say and communicate clearly is the easiest thing. Do not let others guess. Make clear which one is important and must protect yourself, ensure you have proper documentation.
Disclaimers:
These are the things we found ourselves, and hopefully if people share them with us, we can reduce our mistakes and increase our daily productivity faster than we were young. âĻâšïļ
And to say that today we are bored, demotivated, disengaged, disappointed all the time. ð And we have not achieved any great success. We are also trying to improve ourselves. ðŦ°ðŧâĻ
If you see that it is helpful, can save or click like to encourage a little. I intend to write a lot. I intend more than work, hahahaha.
Or friends of the same model as us or any elder who agrees with us or has any requirements to add to share. ðâĻ
