Why glamping is my new favorite way to camp 🏕️

I went glamping at Huttopia Southern Maine and it totally changed my perspective on camping!

Here’s why: Glamping gives you all the benefits of being in nature and having a relaxing outdoor environment to disconnect in - while not being without simple comfort amenities like a hot shower, a mini fridge and a comfortable cozy bed. Glamping is like having your own personal hotel room outside!

It's more than just fancy camping; it's a completely reimagined way to experience the outdoors. If you've ever hesitated because of the hassle of traditional camping, trust me, glamping is your answer. One of the biggest reasons why I love glamping is the incredible blend of rugged nature and genuine comfort. Imagine waking up to the sounds of birds, stepping outside to fresh air, but then retreating into a beautifully furnished tent or cabin with a real bed, soft linens, and even a coffee maker. It's truly getting hotel levels of comfort but in the wilderness. Forget struggling with air mattresses or uncomfortable sleeping bags; here, you get a restful night's sleep, ready to explore. The amenities are a game-changer. My experience included an amazing hot shower and cozy bed, which, after a day of hiking, felt like pure luxury. But many glamping sites offer even more: private bathrooms, small kitchenettes, heating or AC for any weather, and even WiFi if you need to stay partially connected (though I highly recommend you try to disconnect in nature as much as possible!). This comfort removes so many of the typical camping stressors, allowing you to truly relax and soak in your surroundings. Glamping also comes in so many forms, allowing you to pick an experience that perfectly suits your style. You can find charming yurts nestled in forests, luxurious safari tents with breathtaking views, rustic-chic cabins by a lake, or even unique treehouses. Each offers a different vibe, but all share the common goal of providing a comfortable, immersive outdoor stay without the fuss. For anyone considering their first glamping trip, I have a few tips to ensure you fall in love with it too! First, research your destination and the type of accommodation. Look at what amenities are included to ensure they meet your comfort expectations. Second, pack smart—you still want to bring essentials for outdoor activities, but you can leave most of your bulky camping gear at home. Think layers for clothing, good walking shoes, and maybe a book or a journal to fully embrace that feeling of disconnecting. Lastly, go with an open mind, ready to appreciate the simpler joys of nature combined with the unexpected luxuries. It’s an experience that truly allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds, making it easy to understand why I love glamping so much!
