Bohuslan
Exploring a less touristy area of sweden! I went on a 4D3N road trip to the bohuslan region, which is the area above Gothenburg.
It was in the middle of winter when i went, so most places were pretty gloomy and icy, but there were still quite a lot of pretty sights!
📍Marstrand
We walked along the Marstrand coastal trail and visited the fortress. there was also a really cute town with really aesthetic houses.
📍Koster Islands
We took a ferry to koster islands, but i just happened to encounter a downpour while hiking there :”) not advisable to hike there in winter cuz it’s pretty slippery. but we also had an incredible bnb there with a sauna (i almost fell asleep in there) and game console set up.
📍 Slottsskogens Zoo
Going to an open air zoo for free was amazing 🙈 It was a chill walk with some moose, horses and many birds
Overall a pretty nice place to visit but would love to go again in the summer

Marstrand is enchanting with its coastal trail and fortress, but in winter, be prepared for the cold and icy conditions—proper footwear is a must for safety. When planning a visit to Koster Islands, I’d recommend scheduling it outside the winter months if possible. The trails can be quite slippery due to rain and ice, so hiking can be challenging. However, the islands themselves offer wonderful relaxation options like a sauna and cozy BnB stays, which provide a perfect retreat after exploring. For a low-cost activity, Slottsskogen Zoo in Gothenburg is a great choice with free admission and a chance to see local wildlife such as moose and birds. It’s a peaceful spot to unwind during colder weather. Overall, while winter offers a unique, quiet atmosphere in Bohuslan, visiting in summer may enhance your experience with better hiking conditions and more lively outdoor activities. Regardless of the season, the region’s charming towns, nature, and friendly local vibe make it a gem worth exploring.
