Interview time is coming up soon, so I wanted to give some quick tips that I learned as I went through the process and highlight some of the best pointers I got from others.
For grad school, they really want to know how much you know, so they will ask a lot of questions about your research and class experience. I think just knowing that helps, because it is not like a typical interview where they ask you about your personal strengths and weaknesses etc… The questions are going to be centered around your past research, so make sure you review the details of your past projects so you are prepared.
Knowing their expertise is helpful to know how much they know your topic. That is why it is important to take the time and research who will be interviewing you if it is provided, so that you are answering your questions at the appropriate level.
Lastly, make sure you are still yourself. Ask the questions you have, and do not try to fit a “profile” of what you think they are looking for, Just be yourself!!
